Job Description: Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Financial Controller to oversee and enhance our organization’s financial operations and ensure optimal financial performance. The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to lead and streamline accounting processes. Experience in SaaS or e-commerce businesses is a significant advantage.

Primary Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounting Operations Management:

    • Oversee Billing, Accounts Receivables (A/R), Accounts Payables (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  2. Reporting & Analysis:

    • Prepare and present financial reports for the board and other stakeholders.
    • Develop financial models, prepare budgets, and create financial forecasts with variance analysis.
  3. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including tax filings.
    • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory and statutory reports.
  4. Payroll & Bookkeeping:

    • Manage payroll and publish accurate monthly financial statements.
    • Maintain quality control over all financial transactions and reporting.
  5. Month-End/Year-End Closing:

    • Support and execute the month-end and year-end close processes.
  6. Process Improvement:

    • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
    • Identify accounting and financial issues, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
  7. Strategic Financial Management:

    • Provide insights and strategies for income generation and operational efficiency.
    • Produce accurate financial statements as needed.
  8. Other Duties:

    • Undertake additional controller-related tasks as necessary to support the organization’s objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of combined experience in accounting and finance.
  • Industry Expertise: Prior experience in SaaS or e-commerce companies is essential.
  • Education & Certification:
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Expertise in creating and analyzing financial statements.
    • Hands-on experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end processes.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and administration.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
