Role Overview:

The Managing Director - Downstream will lead and drive the downstream operations of Conoil Plc, ensuring strategic growth, operational excellence, and market leadership. The role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in downstream operations, commercial acumen, and leadership capabilities to deliver sustainable business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement the company's downstream strategic goals, aligning with the overall corporate vision.
    • Identify growth opportunities in local and international markets.
    • Oversee the execution of high-impact projects to achieve competitive advantage.
  2. Operational Excellence:

    • Ensure the effective and efficient management of downstream supply chain operations, including refining, distribution, marketing, and retail.
    • Drive innovation and optimization to reduce costs and enhance profitability.
    • Implement world-class safety and compliance standards across all operations.
  3. Commercial & Market Expansion:

    • Lead commercial activities to drive sales, marketing, and revenue generation.
    • Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
    • Identify and leverage market trends and opportunities to expand market share.
  4. Team Leadership:

    • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing executive leadership team.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
    • Set and monitor performance objectives for the downstream division.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Act as the face of the organization, building credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the brand’s visibility.
  6. Financial Management:

    • Drive financial performance, ensuring profitability and operational efficiency.
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for downstream operations.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 18 years of professional experience in the downstream Oil & Gas sector or related industries (e.g., FMCG, Telecom, Digital Payment Services).
    • Track record of holding senior leadership roles in multinational corporations or top-tier organizations such as Total Energies, Shell, Indian Oil, Airtel, Nestlé, or Unilever.
  • Age:

    • 45 to 58 years preferred; exceptional candidates above 58 will also be considered.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Skills:

    • Exceptional strategic planning and execution capabilities.
    • Strong commercial and operational acumen.
    • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Resilience, ethical conduct, and a self-starter attitude.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Candidates from regions such as India, Pakistan, Africa, UAE, Oman, or Eastern Europe are highly encouraged to apply.
