Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of mangrove restoration and conservation projects along the East Coast of Sri Lanka. The role involves managing a variety of environmental initiatives, fostering strong community relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing project plans that outline objectives, timelines, and resources for mangrove restoration, conservation activities, and terrestrial forest plantations.
- Oversee the monitoring and implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder requirements.
- Ensure all project milestones are achieved on target and in full.
- Prepare comprehensive progress reports as needed, ensuring that stakeholders are kept up to date.
- Maintain accurate project records, including progress reports, financial statements, and impact assessments.
- Collect and maintain baseline, fortnightly, monthly, and end-line monitoring data related to nurseries, soil, biodiversity, and environmental databases.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial policies.
- Serve as the point of contact for local stakeholders, including nursery communities, fishermen’s associations, and farmer communities, ensuring effective communication and rapport building.
- Organize workshops, training sessions, and community events to raise awareness and engage the local community.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Address any concerns promptly and coordinate with the internal team for timely resolution.
