Job Title: Senior Procurement Officer

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services required for real estate and construction projects. This role ensures procurement activities are cost-efficient, timely, and aligned with project requirements and company policies. The Senior Procurement Officer collaborates with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to optimize supply chain efficiency and support project success.

Primary Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

  • Identify and source suppliers, vendors, and contractors for materials and services required for projects.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotes, negotiate prices, and finalize procurement contracts to secure optimal terms.
  • Ensure all purchases meet quality standards, project specifications, and delivery timelines.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and consistency.
  • Conduct vendor evaluations and audits to assess performance, compliance, and suitability.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, or payment to maintain smooth operations.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery notes.
  • Prepare and submit reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Cost Control and Budgeting

  • Monitor procurement expenditures to ensure alignment with project budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to ensure timely payment of supplier invoices.

Coordination and Communication

  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand procurement needs and timelines.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of purchase orders and delivery schedules to internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure proper receipt and storage of materials.

Market Research and Trend Analysis

  • Conduct market research to stay updated on pricing, trends, and availability of construction materials.
  • Identify and recommend new suppliers or alternative materials to optimize project outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.

Certifications

  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.

Skills

  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
