Years of experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the role of Quantity Surveyor / Contract
Expert, with at least 1 (one) port construction project of similar nature with 100
(one hundred) million USD or more construction costs. Minimum of 15 years’ cumulative experience in Civil Engineering International working experience with preference in the Middle East.
Qualification: Bachelor or Master degree
Postgraduate qualification in Contract Management is a preference
Field of expertise and experience:
Design & Build, FIDIC Yellow, Contractor payment certification, preparation of
variations, claim management, Contract management. Language skills: Fluent in writing and speaking English is mandatory.
Responsibilities: The Quantity surveyors manages the lump sum costs on a construction project.
The Quantity Surveyor will be required to ensure that the construction project is
completed within its projected lump sum budget and in accordance with the
Contract.
Specific duties:
 Measurement and verification of the quantities and valuation of the
work done in accordance with the contract
 Review and approve Contractor monthly progress payments
 Submit approval of contractor monthly progress report to Resident
Engineer or Assistant Engineer with the recommendation to pay main
contractor
 Review any variation documents, proposed changes to the Contract
tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other
documentation
 Reviewing claims and preparing contractual correspondence
 Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting
overall budget projections accordingly
 Price/forecast the overall project cost based on the payment submittals
submitted by the contractors
 Write input for the progress reports based on Contractor progress
reports
 Manage the progress of the Contractor
 Be vigilant for signs of potential claims and mitigate causes.
 Review contractual annexures with forms, guarantees, insurances, etc.
